Here is your chance to get the original Sears Karosel Kitchen that still lights up and actually works! With 2 D batteries (not included), this kitchen lights up and most of the appliances still work! The washing machine and clothes drier spin, the blue "spray" turns underneath the clear removable dishwasher tray, and the refrigerator, oven, and the cabinet under the sink all light up. Although the hand-operated crank to the left is not working, it likely could be fixed if you open up the bottom of the kitchen (I did not attempt this). The kitchen can be turned by hand so Barbie and her friends can access all of the appliances and cabinets. The hand-operated crank to the right still works, which is how the light flashes on and off as the appliances operate. The on/off button slider to the right still works too.
The photographs on the original toy box are beautiful. It explains that no accessories are included, but in this auction, I am including many of the dishes, pans, and foods that were part of the 60 piece accessory set that were available in Sears catalog and their retail stores (see photos).
This kitchen was sold exclusively at Sears and according to the box, this was modeled after a real World's Fair kitchen of the future.
